SHREVEPORT PETROLEUM TOWER

The Petroleum Tower is a 16-story, mid-20th century office building in mid-town Shreveport, LA. With assistance from Steele Group, a national developer is converting the building into a mixed-use structure consisting of retail, office and market-rate apartments. This will be an extensive renovation, incorporating several new additions and expansions of the building. A new parking deck will be built to accommodate new residential and office parking. The parking deck will connect to the building’s fourth floor by a new pedestrian bridge spanning two intervening businesses. The rooftop will be converted into a social gathering area with a swimming pool. The project is being funded using a combination of sources – historic tax credits, new market tax credits, private funds and loans for the City and the Parrish.
