HABITAT FOR HUMANITY KATE B. REYNOLDS CHARITABLE TRUST HOMEOWNER EDUCATION CENTER

Winston-Salem, NC
2014-2015

With the relocation of the ReStore, Habitat focused their attention on the relocation of the administrative functions for the organization. An existing building became available in one of the neighborhoods they were in the process of transforming. With funding from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust and the City of Winston Salem, among other sources, Habitat asked Steele Group Architects to design their new Homeowner Education Center.

The focus of the building is the selection, education and training of future and current Habitat homeowners. The main level of the building houses Habitat’s core services, including Family Services, Construction and Land Development, as well as a training classroom for homeowners and a computer lab for the community. The upper level of the building houses the Administration offices and Board Room functions.
